Good lighting. One of the most important parts of any creative workspace is having sufficient lighting for the task. Many knitters may prefer a table light that has an adjustable arm or offers magnification to help focus on projects. These lights are often available at craft stores or can be found in health and beauty sections of home supply stores.

Comfortable seating. A good chair or couch goes a long way for knitting as the hobby is often done seated. Choose seating that allows you to sit upright without slouching but allows you to be able to use your arms fully. Foot rests or ergonomically designed pillows can also help.

Organize well. Knitting supplies can overtake a room easily, and a good organization system can keep things tidy. For some knitters, a tackle box is sufficient but others may prefer storage that allows them to keep yarn in containers to prevent it from becoming dirty. Needle and notions storage also should be considered to make the items easy to find. Keeping patterns stored in an organized fashion can make any workspace more enjoyable. A simple file folder can hold them all, or something more elaborate if desired.
